Road work begins Monday on Hwy 14 between Brookings and Volga

Work is set to begin Monday on a two-year project on U.S. Highway 14 west of Brookings.

There will be westbound and eastbound lane closures in place between Brookings and Volga. Speeds will be reduced to 45 mph through the work zone.

Work includes repairings to three bridges in the westbound lane. The project also includes replacement of approach slabs on railroad crossings in the westbound and eastbound lanes. This first phase ofwork isexpected to be complete within three months.

Additional work will be done next year on this $9.5 million project.
