This is the final week of the main run of the 2023 South Dakota Legislative session. With four regular legislative days left the big question is, will South Dakotans get a tax cut? And if so, in what form?
Elimination of the food tax seems to be off the table but may not be completely dead. There are proposals to cut the over-all sales tax by three-tenths of a percent and property tax reduction plans.
The Legislature meets today through Thursday with veto day set for Monday, March 27.
