Seven COVID-19 deaths reported in SD Friday including 1 in Brookings County

Seven COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota Friday. The statewide total is now 2827. One of the deaths was reported in Brookings County.

Active cases in Brookings County decrease by four to 106. Two new cases reported Friday, the total is 8069. Recovered cases are at 7912. There have been 51 deaths reported in Brookings County. The County is in the “moderate” community spread category.

Statewide, active cases decrease by 186 to 3754. Total cases increase by 57 to 236,276. There are 229,695 recovered cases. Current hospitalizations decrease by 17 to 127.

Seventy-one percent of the state’s eligible population has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. Fifty-eight percent have completed a vaccine series and 32-percent have received a booster.
