Seven COVID-19 deaths reported in SD Tuesday; Brookings County improves to “substantial” spread category

Seven COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota Tuesday. The statewide total is now 2779.
Active cases in Brookings County decrease by 18 to 238. There was one new case reported Tuesday, raising the total to 8051. Recovered cases are at 7765. There have been 48 deaths reported in Brookings County. The County has improved from the “high” to the “substantial” community spread category.
Statewide, active cases decrease by 759 to 7706. Total cases increase by 158 to 235,116. There are 224,621 recovered cases. Current hospitalizations decrease by 11 to 211.
Seventy-one percent of the state’s eligible population has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. Fifty-eight percent have completed a vaccine series and 32-percent have received a booster.
