Seven COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota over the weekend; active cases drop

Seven COVID-19 deaths reported since Friday in South Dakota, the total is up to 184.

Active cases in Brookings County drop by 20 over the weekend and now stand at 129. The overall case count is up 28 to 595. There has been one death in Brookings County and eight hospitalizations. The County is in the “substantial” community spread category.

Statewide, active cases have decreased by 54 since Friday and are at 2461. Total positive cases increased by 521 and are now at 16,638. The number of people who have recovered is 13,993. Current hospitalizations increase by 12 to 110.

As of Sunday, South Dakota State University reports 31 active cases.
