Sheriff’s Department investigating thefts

The Brookings County Sheriff’s Department is investing a couple of thefts.

Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring says a rural Elkton resident on Tuesday reported the theft of items from a his shop on 468th Avenue. Stolen was a set of 18v and 20v DeWalt tools with a bag, batteries and charges. The items were stolen sometime last Friday or Saturday. The items are valued at $2,000.

Reported last week was the theft of items from a rural Brookings residence on 471st Avenue. Three animal traps and a shepard’s hook are missing. The items were taken sometime between the 19th and 20th.

Anyone with information on either theft is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office or Crime Stoppers at 692-STOP.
