Sheriff’s Department urges caution on rural roads
During the fall harvest season the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office and Brookings County Highway Department would like to be proactive in keeping the traveling public safe. Farmers are busy with harvest and due to the wet conditions there maybe times where mud and debris from the fields is dragged onto county roads. This is causing roadways to become slippery and hazardous at times. Everyone is doing their best to keep the roads clear and safe. We encourage the traveling public to use caution and slow down this harvest season. If you encounter any road hazards on county roads please contact the Brookings County Highway Department at 696-8270.
