The Brookings County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a rural Brookings hit and run accident.

Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring says it happened at about 5:20 Friday afternoon at the intersection of Main Avenue and 32nd Street South.

A car had stopped for the northbound sign on Main Ave when a red pickup truck pulling a black flatbed trailer attempted to turn south from the westbound stop sign. The two vehicles collided, causing about $2000 damage to the car. The pickup did not stop.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office or Crime Stoppers at 605-692-STOP.
