Sheriff’s Office Reports Two Thefts
The Brookings County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of a chainsaw and a golf cart.
The chainsaw was reported stolen last Friday at a rural residence on the 2600 block of 16th Avenue West. A company had been hired to do work involving cutting wood; when workers returned from a lunch break, they found a Stihl MS291 chainsaw worth $500 had disappeared.
The golf cart was reported Tuesday afternoon on the 100 block of South Lake Drive, Lake Poinsett. A red “Easy-Go” Golf Cart had suffered an electrical failure and was left parked. When the owners returned, they found the vehicle gone. The sheriff’s office estimates the value at $2500
