Sinai, Volga, Brookings Fire Departments respond to large grass fire

The Sinai, Volga and Brookings Fire Departments as well as the South Dakota Highway Patrol and Brookings County Sheriff’s Office responded to a large grass fire south of Sinai.
It was reported at 1:38 p.m. Thursday at 458th Avenue and 219th Street.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the fire crews were able to extinguish the flames and the landowner reports there was no monetary loss.
It’s believed the fire started near the roadway and spread into a grass field.
