Sioux Falls woman dies from injuries sustained in nine-car accident

A 57-year-old Sioux Falls woman has died as a result of injuries sustained in an October 25th crash that involved nine vehicles.

According to the South Dakota Highway patrol, traffic was backed up on Interstate 29 near the 26th Street northbound off ramp. A car was in the middle lane when the vehicle hit another car in front of it. The driver of the first car then drove to the right and rear ended a stopped vehicle. That led to a chain reaction crash involving six other vehicles.

Danielle Buehner of Sioux Falls, the driver of that first car, sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to a Sioux Falls hospital. She died on Saturday.

There were no other injuries.
