Six COVID-19 deaths reported in SD Monday; active cases fall below 3000

Six COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota Monday. The statewide total is now 2859.

Active cases in Brookings County hold at 88. Two new cases reported Monday, the total is 8080. Recovered cases are at 7941. There have been 51 deaths reported in Brookings County. The County is in the “moderate” community spread category.

Statewide, active cases decrease by 97 to 2919. Total cases increase by 46 to 236,648. There are 230,870 recovered cases. Current hospitalizations hold at 88.

Seventy-one percent of the state’s eligible population has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. Fifty-nine percent have completed a vaccine series and 32-percent have received a booster.
