Six COVID-19 deaths reported in SD Thursday; active cases below 4000

Six COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota Thursday. The statewide total is now 2820.

Active cases in Brookings County decrease by 13 to 110. Three new cases reported Thursday, the total is 8067. Recovered cases are at 7907. There have been 50 deaths reported in Brookings County. The County is in the “moderate” community spread category.

Statewide, active cases decrease by 226 to 3940. Total cases increase by 89 to 236,221. There are 229,461 recovered cases. Current hospitalizations decrease by six to 142.

Seventy-one percent of the state’s eligible population has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. Fifty-eight percent have completed a vaccine series and 32-percent have received a booster.
