Six-Mile Creek study meeting set for Monday in Brookings

The City of Brookings will host a Six-Mile Creek Feasibility Study follow-up meeting on Monday, May 20th.

The City’s Engineering staff and consultants will share updated mitigation options and discuss the next steps.

The public meeting is scheduled for 5 to 6:30 p.m. on the third floor of the Brookings City and County Government Center. A presentation will kick off the meeting. Citizens will then be invited to ask questions and share their feedback.

During high-flows, Six-Mile Creek has the potential to impact more than 240 structures in Brookings.

City engineer Charlie Richter says the goal is to reduce future losses to structures and public infrastructure along the Six-Mile Creek corridor.
