Six Mitchell Legion baseball players charged with rape

Six Mitchell Legion baseball players are facing rape charges following alleged hazing incidents that occurred while the team was in Rapid City in June.

Six young men, ranging in age from 17-19, are each charged with second degree rape and aiding and abetting second degree rape.

Those charged are 18-year-old Hudson Michael Haley, 19-year-old Landon William Waddell, 17-year-old Peyton Douglas Mandel, 18-year-old Lincoln Charles Bates, 17-year-old Carter Ryan Miller and 17-year-old Karter Marcus Sibson. Haley and Wadell each face an additional count because of a second victim.

Those under 18 are being charged as adults. Three other juveniles are facing pending charges in juvenile court.

The Mitchell baseball season was placed on pause once the allegations and investigation came to light, and was then cancelled in July.
