South Dakota Senators elect leaders for the coming term

The newly-elected Senate Republican caucus met Friday to determine legislative leadership for the 2023-2024 Legislative term.
Casey Crabtree of Marison was chosen Majority Leader while Mike Diedrich of Rapid City will be Assistant Majority Leader.
Lee Schoenbeck of Watertown will be the GOP nominee for the position of President Pro Tempore, which will be voted on by the full Senate when it organizes on Tuesday, January 10.
Democrats met Saturday and selected Reynold Nesiba of Sioux Falls Minority Leader with Shawn Bordeaux of Mission as Assistant Minority Leader.
