Texas woman sentenced in Vermillion stabbing death
A San Antonio, Texas woman has been sentenced to 15 years in prison after earlier pleading guilty to charges in a 2023 stabbing death in Vermillion. Another 10-years behind bars was suspended.
Twenty-year-old Chezayia Liggins was sentenced Thursday in Clay County Circuit Court.
She plead guilty to aggravated assault and second-degree manslaughter.
Liggins was charged in last July’s stabbing death of 47-year-old Christopher Bartling of Vermillion.
