There are now 4 candidates for a single Brookings School Board seat

The number of candidates continues to grow for the Brookings City and School Election.

There are now four candidates for the lone School Board seat up this year. It’s currently held by Wes Tschetter and he has filed for reelection. The latest to file is Tasi Barondeau. Kyle Dahl and Jacqueline Johnson have also filed for the post.

There are now three candidates for two City Council seats. Incumbent Ope Niemeyer as well as Joey Collins and Cassie Juba have all filed.

The other seat is currently held by Dan Hansen, who is not seeking reelection.

Today at 5:00 p.m. is the deadline to file petitions. The City and School Election is April 14th.
