Three COVID-19 deaths reported Tuesday in SD; active cases fall below 5000

Three COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota Tuesday. The statewide total is now 2808.

Active cases in Brookings County decrease by 27 to 136. Six new cases reported Tuesday, raising the total to 8064. Recovered cases are at 7878. There have been 50 deaths reported in Brookings County. The County in in the “moderate” community spread category.

Statewide, active cases decrease by 656 to 4419. Total cases increase by 175 to 236,056. There are 228,829 recovered cases. Current hospitalizations decrease by 24 to 147.

Seventy-one percent of the state’s eligible population has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. Fifty-eight percent have completed a vaccine series and 32-percent have received a booster.
