Three COVID-19 deaths reported Tuesday in South Dakota; active cases drop

Three new COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota Tuesday. The total is now 2033.

Active cases in Brookings County increase by one and are at four. One new case raises the total to 4236. Recovered cases are at 4195. There have been 37 deaths in Brookings County. The County is in the “minimal” community spread category.

Statewide, active cases decrease by 28 to 146. Total cases increase by 19 to 124,521. There are 122,342 recovered cases. Current hospitalizations increase by two to 23.

Fifty-seven percent of the state’s eligible population has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. Some 689,773 vaccinations have been administered in the state to 367,140 people. A total of 27,781 doses have been given in Brookings County to 14,923 people.
