Tractor lost in fire northeast of Arlington

The Arlington Fire Department, Lake Preston Fire Department, and Brookings County Sheriff’s Office responded to a tractor on fire northeast of Arlington.

Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring says it was reported at about 7:30 Monday evening near the intersection of 207th Street and 456th Avenue.

Sebring says the owner of the tractor said he smelled what he thought to be burning electrical wires and exited the tractor to see where it was coming from. When he got back into the tractor, he discovered the center counsel was on fire.

The tractor was a complete loss and was valued at $35,000.
