Two Brookings men arrested in separate sexual assault cases

Brookings police report two separate arrests on sexual assault charges.

Detective Adam Smith says on Sunday, police took a report that juvenile female had been sexually assaulted by a family member at a residence in Brookings. Sixty-year-old Anthony Caldwell of Brookings was arrested for felony sexual contact with a child under 16 and 4th-degree rape. He’s in custody at the Brookings County Detention Center on a $25,000 cash bond.

On Saturday, Brookings Police received a report that a juvenile female had been sexually assaulted by a family member at a residence in Brookings. Thirty-four-year-old Meyer Lonzano Garrido of Brookings was arrested for felony sexual contact with a child less than 16. He’s in custody at the Brookings County Detention Center on a $15,000 cash bond.
