Two COVID-19 deaths reported in SD Tuesday; active cases continue falling

Two COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota Tuesday. The statewide total is now 2861.

Active cases in Brookings County decrease by one to 87. Three new cases reported Tuesday, the total is 8083. Recovered cases are at 7945. There have been 51 deaths reported in Brookings County. The County is in the “moderate” community spread category.

Statewide, active cases decrease by 163 to 2756. Total cases increase by 67 to 236,715. There are 231,098 recovered cases. Current hospitalizations devrease by 11 to 77.

Seventy-one percent of the state’s eligible population has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. Fifty-nine percent have completed a vaccine series and 32-percent have received a booster.
