Two COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota as new case numbers decrease

Two COVID-19 deaths reported Wednesday in the Department of Health weekly update — the statewide total is now 3118.
There have been 423 new cases statewide in the last week and hospitalizations have decreased by 21 to 62. There have been 271,856 total cases. There were 624 new cases reported last week and 928 reported on December 14.
In Brookings County, there have been 11 new cases reported in the last week, raising the yearly total to 3,369. There have been 17 deaths in 2022. There are currently no hospitalizations in Brookings County for COVID-19.
