Two COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota Thursday; hospitalizations drop slightly

Two COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota Thursday. The total is now 2071.

Active cases in Brookings County increase by 8 and are at 171. Thirteen new cases reported Thursday, bringing the total to 4525. Recovered cases are at 4317. There have been 37 deaths in Brookings County. The County is in the “high” community spread category

Statewide, active cases increase by 318 to 5688. Total cases are up by 536 to 133,372. There are 125,613 recovered cases. Current hospitalizations decrease by 11 to 218.

Sixty-two percent of the state’s eligible population has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
