Two juveniles facing charges in Brookings for damaging storefront

Two juveniles are facing charges after breaking a window at the Roll N’ Smoke store on the 700 block of 25th Avenue.

Police Lt. Marci Gebers says police responded to an alarm at the store shortly before 10:30 Tuesday night. Officers found damage to the storefront window. While checking the area, a juvenile was seen running away on the north side of Lowes and another was climbing a ladder on the back of the business.

Police detained the juvenile on the ladder, who tried running away again but was located.

The second juvenile was not apprehended at the scene but Gebers says they know who it is and charges are pending against both.

The two used rocks to break the window. A damage estimate is not available.
