Two people wanted for Brookings County burglaries arrested in Minnehaha County

Two people wanted for burglary in Brookings County are arrested in Minnehaha County.

Assistant Brookings County Sheriff Scott Sebring says their investigation led to the execution of a search warrant at a residence on the 500 block of 7th Avenue in Brookings on May first.

It was related to March burglaries reported near rural areas of Sinai and Aurora.

During the search, numerous stolen items were recovered as well as firearms, meth, drug paraphernalia, and evidence of drug dealing.

Arrest warrants were issued for 32-year-old Quentin Schmidt of Brookings and 27-year-old Breanna Pearson of Brookings. They had already fled the area.

On Wednesday, the Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office located the two and they were arrested.

They’ve been charged with numerous counts including Grand Theft, 3rd and 2nd Degree Burglary, Distribution of drugs in a Drug Free Zone.

The two are being held at the Brookings County jail. Bond for each is set at $10,000 cash only.
