Unemployment claims fall in South Dakota

A big drop in unemployment claims in South Dakota.

During the week of Sept. 20-26, a total of 233 initial weekly claims for
state unemployment benefits were processed by the Department of Labor and
Regulation. This a drop of 318 claims from the prior week’s total of 551.

The latest number of continued state claims is 5,987 for the week ending Sept. 19, a
decrease of 963 from the prior week’s total of 6,950. This is the number of
unemployed workers eligible for and receiving benefits after their initial claim.
