Unemployment claims go down in South Dakota

Unemployment claims fall during the second-to-last week of 2020.

For December 20-26, a total of 602 initial weekly claims for state unemployment benefits were processed by the Department of Labor and Regulation. This is a decrease of 168 claims from the prior week’s total of 770.

The latest number of continued state claims is 3,609 for the week ending December 19th, a drop of 617 from the prior week’s total of 4,226. This is the number of unemployed workers eligible for and receiving benefits after their initial claim.
