Vehicle numbers down at this year’s Sturgis rally

It appears attendance is down so far at this year’s Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.
The 83rd annual rally runs August 4-13.
According to the South Dakota Department of transportation, through Tuesday, total vehicle counts were down 16-percent from last year.
According to the South Dakota Highway Patrol, through Monday, drug arrests and total citations issued were up from last year while DUI arrests were down.
Injury and non-injury accidents are both up. Two traffic fatalities have been reported, both were motorcycle crashes.
