He serves as Managing and Artistic Director of Jazz at Lincoln Center\, Director of Jazz Studies at The Juilliard School\, and President of the Louis Armstrong Educational Foundation. \nA native of New Orleans\, Marsalis launched his career with Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers before emerging as a global ambassador for jazz. Since his 1982 debut\, he has released more than 130 recordings\, earned nine Grammy Awards\, and became the first jazz artist to receive the Pulitzer Prize for Music. Through his performances\, compositions\, and lifelong commitment to education\, Marsalis has inspired generations of musicians while championing jazz as America’s original art form. \nJazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra \nThe Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra is one of the world’s premier jazz ensembles. Widely regarded as one of the nation’s leading silent-film accompanists\, Model has spent more than four decades creating and performing live music for silent films. He serves as a resident accompanist at both the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Library of Congress’ Packard Campus Theatre. \nAs SDSU commemorates America 250\, The General offers a uniquely American story. Set during the Civil War and inspired by real events\, the film combines Keaton’s groundbreaking comedy with themes of perseverance\, divided loyalties\, and national identity\, creating a memorable cinematic experience for contemporary audiences.

Since their founding in 1977\, the legendary quartet has dedicated itself to preserving and celebrating Western music while creating original songs that keep the genre vibrant for new generations. \nWhat began as performances in small Nashville venues grew into an internationally recognized career that includes more than 7\,200 appearances\, tours in all 50 states\, over 40 recordings\, and more than 35 years as members of the Grand Ole Opry. Along the way\, Riders In The Sky have appeared on television and radio\, starred in their own programs\, and introduced countless fans to the rich heritage of the American West. \nThe group’s many honors include two Grammy Awards\, induction into the Western Music Hall of Fame\, and numerous awards from the Western Music Association and the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum.
