Westra steps down as SD Economic Development Commissioner

The commissioner of the Governor’s Office of Economic Development, Steve Westra, will be stepping down. He has served in the position since 2019.
The resignation is effective May 22.
Governor Kristi Noem says South Dakotans are building the strongest economy in America and Westra helped make that possible.
Travis Dovre will serve as interim commissioner of GOED. He serves as the fiscal officer for Governor Noem’s office, a role he has held since Governor Daugaard’s administration in 2015.
