Woman killed in car/motorcyle crash on I90 in Jones County

One person died Sunday evening in a two-vehicle crash east of Draper in Jones County.

Names have not been released pending notification of family.

According to the South Dakota Highway Patrol, a motorcycle and an SUV were both traveling west on Interstate 90 near mile marker 204. TheSUV rear-ended the motorcycle. The driver and a passenger on the motorcycle were thrown and landed on the shoulder of the roadway.

The 52-year-old man driving the motorcycle was taken to a hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries. The 59-year-old female passenger died at the scene. They were not wearing helmets.

The 16-year-old female driver of the SUV was not injured.
