Young man killed in motorcycle accident near Lead

One person died Sunday afternoon in a motorcycle crash two miles west of Lead.

The name of the person involved has not been released pending notification of family.

According to the South Dakota Highway Patrol, the motorcycle was travelin on U.S. Highway 14A when the driver failed to make a curve. The cycle left the road, entered the ditch, and struck an embankment.

The 18-year-old male driver was taken by Black Hills Life Flight to a Rapid City hospital. However, his injuries were fatal.

He was not wearing a helmet.
