An Arkansas man is facing several charges after incidents in downtown Brookings early Sunday morning.

Police Sergeant Joel Perry says police were notified of a man going up and down the streets, causing problems with people. Police gave him a warning.

Later, he was reportedly trying to fight with people in line at a business when he tried to cut in. That establishment obtained a no trespass order against the man.

At about 2:00 am, police located the man and detained him on an outstanding South Dakota warrant.

Perry says the man resisted and kicked an officer in the knee. That officer required medical attention and was taken to the Brookings Hospital.

Perry says 26-year-old Colten Waldmann was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, obstruction, resisting arrest and simple assault of a law enforcement officer.
