Boy injured in scooter/pickup crash at Oakwood Lakes campground

A seven-year-old boy is injured when his electric scooter collides with a pickup at Oakwood Lakes State Park.
Assistant Brookings County Sheriff Scott Sebring says it was reported at about 6:45 Friday evening.
He says the boy was riding the scooter on a trail when he crossed a road. He hit a pickup that was driving on the road. The boy’s leg became pinned under a rear tire.
The boy was taken by ambulance to the Brookings hospital and then was transferred to Sioux Falls.
The boy is from Watertown, his name has not been released.
