Brookings Health System to host Medicare seminars

Brookings Health System will host four sessions of the free Understanding Medicare seminar, designed to help prepare area Medicare beneficiaries for 2024 open enrollment,

Two sessions will be held on Wednesday, September 13th at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Two additional sessions will be held on Wednesday, September 27th at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. All sessions will be held at Brookings Hospital, Conference Room A.

The program is for those nearing age 65 of their initial enrollment period or those who plan to re-enroll in 2024.

Brookings Health recently alerted area Medicare beneficiaries that as of next year, they will no longer be in-network for any Medicare Advantage plan.

The seminars will be conducted by Senior Health Information and Insurance Education, a federally funded program through the Administration for Community Living and administered by the South Dakota Department of Human Services.
