Brookings man arrested for aggravated assault

Brookings police arrest a man for aggravated assault after he allegedly displayed a knife during an argument with his girlfriend.

Detective Adam Smith says it was reported shortly before 1:00 o’clock Thursday morning on the 900 block of Southland Lane.

It was found that 39-year-old James Williams had slapped his 46-year-old girlfriend and displayed a kitchen knife during the argument.

The female victim had minor injuries. Williams was arrested for simple assault domestic and aggravated assault domestic and taken to the Brookings County Jail. Bond was set at $5,000 cash.
