Brookings police arrest two juvenile suspects in a series of vandalism cases.

Assistant Police Chief Derrick Powers says mailboxes and a vehicle were vandalized between Friday
and Sunday.

They occurred on Trail Ridge Road, Squire Court and Parkway Boulevard. The vehicle had it’s windshield smashed on the 400 block of 12th Street South.

Powers says a homeowner with security cameras in the area of one of the vandlalisms captured footage of the vehicle involved. He says an investigation led to the arrest of two juveniles. They face possible charges of intentional damage to property.

Powers encourages people to register their security cameras with their “Video Eyewitness” program. He say police do not have access to the systems but it lets them know where surveillance exists.
