Brookings Sheriff’s Office reports storage unit burglary

The Brookings County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a storage unit burglary.

Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring says it was reported November 11th at Dakota Mini Storage at 3500 Main Avenue South and likely happened between October 29th and November 10th.

Sebring says the storage unit was locked but entry is believed to have been gained from an adjacent storage unit that was not locked.

Among the items stolen: ice fishing equipment, two black plastic rifle cases, welding equipment, and a 15 horsepower Mercury 2-stroke motor. The value of the items stolen is $2,220.
