Brookings woman arrested for stealing lottery tickets

A Brookings woman is arrested for allegedly stealing lottery tickets from her employer.

A local business called police Tuesday and reported an employee had been caught stealing lottery tickets and had been doing so since May of this year.

Detective Adam Smith says the business provided evidence of the theft to officers. Forty-six-year-old Misty Porter is accused of stealing some $6000 in lottery tickets.

Porter was arrested for grand theft and taken to the Brookings County Jail.
