Eight COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota Monday, the statewide total is now 2328. One of the deaths is from Brookings County.
Active cases in Brookings County increase by seven to 146. Fourteen new cases reported Monday. The total is now 5333. Recovered cases are at 5146. There have been 41 deaths in Brookings County. The County is in the “high” community spread category.
Statewide, active cases increase by 173 to 7253. Total cases increase by 575 to 164,867. There are 155,286 recovered cases. Current hospitalizations increase by three to 234.
Sixty-four-percent of the state’s eligible population has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. The way the state calculates the vaccination percentage has been changed to reflect the fact that children ages five to eleven are now also vaccine-eligible.
