Four COVID-19 deaths reported Tuesday in South Dakota; recoveries nearly match new cases

Four COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota Tuesday. The total is now 2092.

Active cases in Brookings County increase by two and are at 225. Twenty-seven new cases reported Tuesday, bringing the total to 4687. Recovered cases are at 4425. There have been 37 deaths in Brookings County. The County is in the “high” community spread category.

Statewide, active cases increase by 37 to 7263. Total cases are up by 992 to 138,292. There were 951 recovered cases reported, raising the total to 128,937. Current hospitalizations decrease by 18 to 215.

Today’s tally includes cases recorded over the weekend.

Sixty-three percent of the state’s eligible population has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
