Lug nuts removed from vehicle north of Arlington

The Brookings County Sheriff’s Office reports lug nuts were removed from a pickup north of Arlington.
Assistant Brookings County Sheriff Scott Sebring says it happened sometime between 9:00 PM Saturday and 8:00 AM Sunday.
Sebring says the pickup was parked in a field on Highway 81 near 205th Street. While the owner attended other tasks, someone removed the lug nuts and left them in the field. When the owner returned and began driving away, the wheel came off the truck.
Damages are still being estimated and the incident remains under investigation.
