Lukkes to take over Board of Regents as Maher announces resignation

South Dakota Board of Regents Executive Director and CEO, Dr. Brian Maher, will resign at the end of his current contract, which runs through June.
Nathan Lukkes will succeed Maher. Lukkes joined the Board of Regents in 2014 as the System Assistant Vice President for Research and Economic Development. He currently serves as Chief of Staff and General Counsel.
Maher became Executive Director in 2020 and had previously served as Superintendent of the Sioux Falls School District.
