Mobridge woman killed in Hamlin County crash
A Mobridge woman has been identified as the person who died Wednesday morning in a two-vehicle crash south of Watertown in Hamlin County.
Preliminary information indicates that the driver of a a car heading north on U.S. Highway 81 lost control, entered the southbound lane and collided with another car. Both drivers, who were wearing seat belts, were taken by ambulance to the Watertown hospital.
The driver of the car that went out of control, 30-year-old Cyra Schaefer, later died as result of her injuries. The 59-year-old man driving the other car, Frankie McCrary of Lake Norden, suffered serious, non-life threatening injuries.
The Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
