Brookings Family Bash Brings Families Together for a Day of Fun and Community Connection

BROOKINGS (10-7-26) — Brookings Area United Way and the Brookings County Mental Health Coalition recently hosted the 6th annual Brookings Family Bash, bringing over 330 people. The event, part of National Family Day, is celebrated to promote strong parent-child relationships and communication. The event provided children and families with a welcoming environment to enjoy relationship building activities, while learning more about the resources and organizations available throughout the Brookings community.


“We are so grateful to everyone who came out to celebrate with us,” said Heidi Gullickson, Executive Director of Brookings Area United Way. “Events like the Brookings Family Bash are a great reminder of what makes our community special. When families, organizations, and businesses come together, we create stronger connections and a stronger community.”

The Brookings Family Bash was made possible through the support of community partners, volunteers, and local organizations who helped provide relationship focused activities and experiences for families throughout the event.
