BROOKINGS (10-23-26) — The end of October means the call is going out to participate in this year’s Festival of Trees at the Brookings Arts Council.
Eileen Binkley is Arts Council Operations Manager… “We have sixteen trees to decorate, and we always have a theme. So this year our theme is Enchanted Forest. So think lots of greenery, I’m picturing a lot of twinkling golden stars, and a night sky, maybe some mushrooms or a few little woodland creatures — things like that. I even had the idea it would be fun to do like a fairy tree, like a Tinkerbell Christmas tree or something like that.”
Businesses, non-profits, or groups of friends can sign-up to decorate a tree… “You can find that sign-up online at our website or you know of course you can always come in during our open hours and I can help you with that or one of our gallery assistants can help you with that.”
Sign-up closes November 13. There is a $35 cost to participate.
Once again this year, the public will be able to vote for the best tree — winners will receive an Arts Council gift basket.
