BROOKINGS COUNTY (9-21-26) — The Brookings County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a report of intentional damage to a hay field.
It was reported at a field on 215th Street near 468th Avenue on September 19, shortly after 5:30 p.m.
Sheriff’s deputies say someone had deliberately left the roadway, gone into the field and repeatedly driven over a large area while spinning their tires to cause severe damage to the hay.
A damage estimate is not yet available.
This is the third recent incident of intentional damage to a field in Brookings County. On September 7, a corn field along 466th Avenue near 220th Street received $500 damage; and on September 9, a soybean field along 466th Avenue near 203rd Street received $800 damage.
