One COVID-19 death reported in SD Wednesday; active cases continue falling

One COVID-19 death reported in South Dakota Wednesday. The statewide total is now 2844.

Active cases in Brookings County decrease by four to 95. Two new cases reported Wednesday, the total is 8075. Recovered cases are at 7929. There have been 51 deaths reported in Brookings County. The County is in the “moderate” community spread category.

Statewide, active cases decrease by 117 to 3238. Total cases increase by 72 to 236,503. There are 230,421 recovered cases. Current hospitalizations decrease by eight to 112.

Seventy-one percent of the state’s eligible population has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. Fifty-eight percent have completed a vaccine series and 32-percent have received a booster.
